The Astrology for August 17th – 23rd, 2026: The In-Between of Eclipses—Releasing, Restructuring & Reorganizing

A Weekly Astrological Look Ahead with Soul-Work Journal Prompts, Healing Opportunities, as well as Actionable Steps to Work with the Energy.

Hey Soul Seekers,

I hope this past week treated you gently—though I know the energy has been anything but subtle. I felt it deeply too, and if you’ve been struggling with sleep, fatigue, or feeling emotionally ungrounded, you’re not alone. Eclipse season tends to do that. It stirs everything up—our bodies, our emotions, our nervous systems—and sometimes the first sign is simply feeling off.

So I’m going to say the same thing I said last week, because it bears repeating: take care of yourself. Don’t overextend. Lighten your load where you can. Eat well, stay hydrated, and rest when your body asks for it—especially if sleep has been elusive. These small acts of care are not indulgent; they’re essential. They help regulate our nervous system during a time when everything feels amplified.

The astrology for August 17th -23rd sits in the liminal space between eclipses (The In-Between, is what I like to call it)—the quiet middle ground after the Leo Solar Eclipse and the week before the Pisces Lunar Eclipse. We’re in the waxing phase, where the light grows toward a Full Moon, which means emotions may begin to surface more intensely. Full Moons illuminate what we might not have been aware of. They reveal. They bring things to light. And while New Moons are felt internally, Full Moons tend to show up in our external world, in our relationships, and in the situations we can no longer ignore.

So as we move through this in-between week, we’re being asked to reflect, release, and reorganize—quietly, intentionally, and with care. The astrology ahead supports grounding, honest connection, and the kind of healing that doesn’t rush.

A Reminder

As a friendly reminder, with Saturn and Neptune in Aries, time may feel like it’s moving faster or scattered, so focus on joy, purpose, personal development, and what truly nourishes you. Astrological Breakdown for the Week

The Astrology for August 17th – 23rd

The astrology this week unfolds in layers — emotional balance through deeper understanding, through relational and personal accountability, centered around identity release, and practical grounded healing. The energy doesn’t rush; it naturally unfolds. It asks us to pay attention, to participate, and to grow.

We begin Monday under a mixed sky. Mars squares Neptune Rx, urging us to bring our ideals down to earth. Mercury trines Saturn Rx, giving us the structure and clarity we need to communicate honestly. And Venus sextiles Jupiter softens the edges, opening space for creative connection, collaboration, and support.

By Friday, the tone shifts. Venus opposes Saturn Rx, offering a moment of relational and personal accountability — a chance to show up honestly, set healthy boundaries, and strengthen what truly matters. This isn’t about restriction; it’s about having integrity and alignment.

Saturday brings a turning point. The Sun conjuncts the South Node in Leo and opposes the North Node in Aquarius, helping us release old identity patterns that no longer fit who we’re becoming. Then the Sun enters Virgo, ushering in a season of grounded purpose, refinement, and practical healing. What Leo illuminated, Virgo now helps us integrate.

Sunday closes the week with quiet medicine. The Sun trines Chiron Rx, offering slow, steady, earth‑rooted healing — the kind that builds a foundation rather than offering a quick fix.

This week clears space, grounds your energy, and helps you step more fully into the person you’re becoming. It’s intentional, layered, and deeply supportive.

Monday, August 17th: Mars square Neptune Rx; Mercury trine Saturn Rx; Venus sextile Jupiter

Monday brings three transits, each working on a different layer of our emotional, mental, and relational world. Mars in Cancer squares Neptune retrograde in Aries, Mercury in Leo trines Saturn retrograde in Aries, and Venus in Libra sextiles Jupiter in Leo. It’s a day that asks for clarity, compassion, responsibility, and openness — especially around how we act, how we communicate, and how we connect.

Mars in Cancer square Neptune retrograde in Aries is a cardinal square — and Mars rules Neptune right now. This is not the easiest aspect. Mars in Cancer acts from emotion; it reacts from feeling. It’s ruled by the Moon, which is currently in Libra, another cardinal sign that wants emotional balance. Neptune, on the other hand, can have us idealizing something we want — imagining how it should go, how it could be, how we wish it would unfold. The challenge is grounding those ideals in reality.

This square asks us to check our expectations. Are they realistic? Are they achievable? Are we willing to put in the time, effort, and emotional responsibility required? This can show up in relationships too — idealizing how someone should respond, how a connection should feel, or how harmony should magically appear. Neptune can make us dream, but Mars reminds us that dreams require action, clarity, emotional resonance, and responsibility. This is about responsible expectations — not fantasy.

Next, Mercury in Leo trines Saturn retrograde in Aries — a fire trine that brings passion, creativity, and structure. Mercury is how we communicate, express ourselves, and share our ideas. Saturn is our foundation, our stability, our long‑term direction. Together, they help us restructure how we communicate. This is a supportive aspect that helps us speak with more clarity, more confidence, and more purpose. It’s a great day for expressing something meaningful, especially if we’ve been trying to find the right words.

Lastly, Venus in Libra sextiles Jupiter in Leo — the two benefics working together. Venus in Libra brings harmony, balance, reciprocity, and connection. Jupiter in Leo brings growth, wisdom, and expressive expansion. Fire and Air — passion and communication. This is a beautiful aspect, but it requires action to take advantage of. We may see an opportunity to grow, learn, collaborate, or connect creatively. We may feel inspired to work with others in a way that feels balanced and mutually supportive. Venus and Jupiter together help us express what lights us up — and connect with people who appreciate it.

What it feels like: Today feels mixed — part dreamy, part grounded, part inspired. You may feel pulled between idealism and reality, but also supported in finding clarity. There’s a sense of wanting harmony, wanting growth, wanting connection — but needing to be honest about what’s realistic and what requires effort.

Positive expressions: This energy supports emotional healing, clearer communication, creative collaboration, and relational harmony. Mars helps us confront emotional expectations. Mercury and Saturn help us speak with structure and confidence. Venus and Jupiter help us connect in ways that feel joyful, expansive, and balanced.

Shadow expressions: The shadow may show up as unrealistic expectations, emotional overwhelm, idealizing relationships, or assuming things should unfold effortlessly. Neptune can blur reality. Mars can react emotionally. Saturn can highlight where we’ve been rigid. Jupiter can amplify things too quickly. The shadow is expecting harmony without participating in it.

The invitation: Ground your dreams. Speak with clarity. Connect with intention. Let Mars show you where expectations need adjusting. Let Mercury and Saturn help you communicate with confidence. Let Venus and Jupiter open doors to connection and creativity. Today is about balancing idealism with responsibility — and choosing the actions that help your relationships, your creativity, and your growth flourish.

Healing Opportunity & Actionable Step:

Grounding Your Dreams in Reality
Aligned with Mars square Neptune (idealized expectations) and Mercury trine Saturn (clear communication).
Positive Expression: Emotional healing, clearer communication, creative collaboration, relational harmony. Confronting emotional expectations, speaking with structure and confidence.
Shadow Expression: Unrealistic expectations, emotional overwhelm, idealizing relationships, assuming things should unfold effortlessly.
Actionable Step: Journal: Where have I been idealizing a situation, relationship, or outcome rather than seeing it clearly? What expectations need adjusting? What would it look like to ground my dreams in reality while still honoring what I truly want? Then, take one small action that reflects that grounded clarity—have an honest conversation, adjust a plan, or release an unrealistic expectation. Balance idealism with responsibility.

Friday, August 21st: Venus (Libra) opposite Saturn Rx (Aries)

On Friday, Venus in Libra stands opposite Saturn retrograde in Aries. Venus is strong here — she’s in her home sign, focused on relationships, connection, reciprocity, and harmony. Saturn, however, does not operate comfortably in Aries, and being retrograde makes this energy turn inward. This opposition brings up how we structure our relationships, how we show up for others, and how we honor ourselves within those connections.

This is a moment of relational accountability. Venus wants connection, fairness, and balance. Saturn wants responsibility, boundaries, and integrity. Together, they ask us to look honestly at how we relate. Do we feel supported? Do we support others? Is there equality? Are we giving and receiving in ways that feel healthy? Are we honoring each other’s needs? Are we treating our partners the way we want to be treated?

Sometimes relationships require more from us — effort, patience, understanding, or emotional presence. Are we putting in the effort where it matters? Do we believe in each other? Do we give each other the benefit of the doubt? Are we showing up in ways that inspire growth, connection, compassion, and trust?

This is not about causing pain or separation. It’s about taking responsibility for our own part in the relationship. Saturn retrograde asks us to restructure what isn’t working, not to punish ourselves or others, but to create something healthier and more stable. Venus asks us to do this with compassion, fairness, and love.

This is a time of sowing what we’ve grown. If our relationships have been supportive, reciprocal, and meaningful, this transit helps us feel that support more deeply. If something has been faltering, this may be the moment it comes up for honest evaluation. Not to tear anything down — but to strengthen it.

This is the time to ask: Are we honoring each other? Are we growing together? Are we building something that feels balanced, supportive, and true?

What it feels like: Today feels reflective, relational, and a bit serious. There’s a sense of wanting harmony but also needing honesty. You may feel more aware of what’s working and what isn’t. It’s not meant to be heavy — just clarifying.

Positive expressions: This energy supports healthy boundaries, honest conversations, relational restructuring, and deeper commitment. Venus brings warmth and fairness. Saturn brings maturity and responsibility. Together, they help relationships grow stronger.

Shadow expressions: The shadow may show up as emotional, defensiveness, withdrawal, or feeling overly responsible for everything. Saturn can feel restrictive. Venus can feel overly accommodating. The shadow is avoiding the truth or clinging to imbalance.

The invitation: Show up honestly. Honor your needs. Honor the relationship. Set boundaries where needed. Offer support where it matters. Let Venus soften the edges and Saturn strengthen the foundation. This is about growing together, not tearing things apart or over‑analyzing every detail.

Healing opportunity & Actionable Step:

Showing Up Honestly in Relationships
Aligned with Venus opposite Saturn Rx — relational accountability, boundaries, and honest connection.
Positive Expression: Healthy boundaries, honest conversations, relational and personal restructuring, deeper commitment. Warmth, fairness, maturity, and responsibility.
Shadow Expression: Defensiveness, withdrawal, feeling overly responsible for everything. Avoiding the truth or clinging to imbalance.
Actionable Step: Journal: Where in my relationships have I been avoiding honest conversations, setting unclear boundaries, or not showing up as my full self? What one honest step can I take today—a conversation, a boundary, or a moment of vulnerable truth—that strengthens the foundation of a meaningful connection? Then, take that step. Let Venus soften the edges and Saturn strengthen the foundation. This is about growing together, not pulling apart.

Saturday, August 22nd: Sun (Leo) opposite North Node (Aqua.); Sun Enters Virgo

On Saturday, the Sun conjuncts the South Node in Leo and opposes the North Node in Aquarius. A few hours later, the Sun shifts into Virgo. This is a day of transition — one foot in the past, one foot stepping into the future.

The Sun conjunct the South Node in Leo and opposite the North Node in Aquarius is exactly what I’ve been talking about throughout this eclipse season. We are releasing a part of who we’ve been — our identity, our self‑expression, the ways we’ve dimmed ourselves or over‑performed — so we can move into something new. The Sun is our purpose, our vitality, our inner light. When it sits on the South Node, we’re asked to let go of the shadow qualities of Leo: needing recognition, performing for approval, clinging to old versions of ourselves or hiding in the shadows. But the South Node also holds gifts — things we’ve mastered, things we do naturally. So, this isn’t a rejection of Leo energy; it’s a re‑balancing. We are never meant to leave the South Node gifts behind; we are meant to take them with us to do the North Node energy, where we can grow into the new.

The North Node in Aquarius is all about community, collaboration, shared purpose, and collective uplift. It’s about growing together, inspiring one another, and showing up as equals. And honestly, this reminds me so much of my own work — how I host New and Full Moon gatherings. We sit together, talk through the energy, share what’s coming up for each of us, and hold space for one another. We’re vulnerable together. We heal together. We offer feedback and support without hierarchy. No one is above anyone else — we show up equally, openly, and honestly. That is the North Node in Aquarius in real time. Sharing our passions, releasing our shadows, and being supported in community.

A few hours later, the Sun enters Virgo — now ruled by Mercury in Leo. Sun in Virgo loves organization, systems, and fine‑tuning the details that help our lives run smoothly. Virgo energy is precise, intentional, and capable of creating order even in chaos. The Sun will be in Virgo until September 22nd.

During the Sun’s transit through Virgo, it will trine Chiron retrograde in Taurus, offering grounded healing. It will conjunct Mercury (its ruler) in a Cazimi — a moment of clarity, epiphany, and sudden insight where mind and purpose fuse together. The Sun will square Uranus in Gemini, bringing breakthroughs, new directions, and unexpected clarity — and because Uranus is ruled by Mercury, we’ll want to pay close attention to Mercury’s movements that day. Finally, the Sun will sextile Mars in Cancer, giving us fertile, emotionally driven momentum toward our goals and ambitions.

What it feels like: Today feels transitional — like shedding old skin and stepping into a new version of yourself. There’s a sense of release, clarity, and quiet empowerment. You may feel reflective, emotional, or deeply connected to your purpose.

Positive expressions: This energy supports releasing outdated identity patterns, embracing community, refining your purpose, and stepping into more grounded self‑expression. The Sun in Virgo helps you organize your life in a way that supports your growth. The Nodes help you balance individuality with collective belonging.

Shadow expressions: The shadow may show up as clinging to old versions of yourself, resisting change, or feeling unsure about how to show up in community. Virgo energy can become overly critical or perfectionistic. Leo South Node can cling to old ego patterns.

The invitation: Let yourself release what no longer fits. Let yourself be supported by community. Let yourself refine your purpose. Show up authentically — not for recognition, but because it feels right. Let the Sun in Virgo help you build the systems, habits, and structure that support who you’re becoming. You’re stepping into a new chapter — one that honors both your individuality and your place within the collective.

Healing opportunity & Actionable Step:

Releasing Who You Were to Become Who You Are
Aligned with Sun conjunct South Node in Leo (releasing old identity patterns) and Sun entering Virgo (grounded purpose).
Positive Expression: Releasing outdated identity patterns, embracing community, refining your purpose, stepping into more grounded self-expression. Organizing your life to support your growth.
Shadow Expression: Clinging to old versions of yourself, resisting change, feeling unsure about how to show up in community. Clinging to old ego patterns.
Actionable Step: Journal: What old version of myself am I ready to release—one that no longer fits who I’m becoming? What new, more grounded purpose is emerging? Then, take one small action that honors the new chapter—join a community, share your gifts without seeking recognition, or simply show up as your authentic self. You’re stepping into a new chapter—one that honors both your individuality and your place within the collective.

Sunday, August 23rd: Sun (Virgo) trine Chiron Rx (Taurus)

On Sunday, the Sun in Virgo forms a trine to Chiron retrograde in Taurus — both earth signs — bringing grounded clarity around what we value, what brings us pleasure, and how we can reorganize our lives to reflect that. The Sun is now ruled by Mercury in Leo, and Mercury is working its way toward its Cazimi moment with the Sun. Before that happens, Mercury will conjunct the South Node — and because Mercury is also trine Chiron, it’s supporting the Sun’s conversation with Chiron. Both are learning to release something, just as the Sun did yesterday.

But today’s release isn’t only about perfectionism or over‑analysis — it’s also about letting go of old habits, routines, and self‑expectations that no longer align with what we truly value. Chiron in Taurus shows us what feels healing, what feels good, what brings pleasure to our soul, what makes life worth living. Mercury Leo shows us what lights us up, what sparks passion, what makes us feel alive. The Sun in Virgo shows us how to build the daily structure and routine, that supports these things. This trine asks: Are your routines aligned with what you value? Are your habits supporting what brings you joy? Are you living in a way that reflects what matters to you?

Chiron retrograde in Taurus is about internal healing around the things that make us feel secure, safe, and stable — but also around the things that make us feel good. This can be about our self‑worth, the way we feel valued, our body image, how nourished we feel (food, water, rest), and any scarcity or lack we’ve internalized in some way. Taurus wants us to enjoy life, to feel pleasure, to feel comfort, to feel embodied. Virgo wants us to organize life in a way that supports those needs.

This is where Taurus and Virgo work beautifully together: bringing practical healing. Think of something as simple as eating in a routine that actually nourishes you. Are you feeding your body every few hours? Are you giving yourself what you need to function at your best? Are you regulating your nervous system in a sustainable way? Healing doesn’t have to be dramatic — sometimes it’s as simple as adopting a new routine that supports your wellbeing.

The Sun in Virgo gives us a plan — a grounded, practical way to reorganize our habits so they actually support what we value. Earth‑to‑earth trines help us feel steady, capable, and ready to make real‑world changes. It’s the kind of healing that happens when we finally say, “I deserve to feel good,” and then adjust our routines to reflect that.

Chiron retrograde is ruled by Venus, who is currently in Libra. She just had her opposition with Saturn retrograde, so she’s taking responsibility for what she feels and what she values — but in a balanced way. Saturn is involved, so this isn’t always easy. Saturn asks us to do the hard thing, the responsible thing, the thing that requires maturity and courage. Sometimes reorganizing our lives around what we value means letting go of old habits, old comforts, or old versions of ourselves. It can feel scary. But Saturn in Aries reminds us: do it anyway. Do the brave thing. When we do, we are rewarded.

What it feels like: Today feels steady, grounded, and clarifying. You may feel more aware of what truly matters to you — what brings pleasure, what feels nourishing, what lights you up — and you may feel more capable of reorganizing your routines to reflect that. It’s not dramatic; it’s gentle, practical, and empowering.

Positive expressions: Grounded healing. Practical reorganization. Choosing habits that support joy. Aligning daily life with what you value. Letting routines reflect pleasure, passion, and nourishment.

Shadow expressions: Fear of change. Clinging to old routines. Feeling overwhelmed by responsibility. Believing you need the “perfect” plan before you begin. Over‑criticism (Virgo) or over‑attachment (Taurus).

The invitation: Let yourself reorganize; reorganize your life around what you value. Let yourself choose pleasure. Let yourself build routines that support your joy. Let the Sun give you a plan. Let Chiron show you where you’ve denied yourself nourishment and life’s simple pleasures. Let Venus and Saturn help you take responsibility with grace. Healing doesn’t have to be dramatic — it can be as simple as adjusting a habit, shifting a routine, or choosing something that feels good to your soul. You’re building something steadier, healthier, and more aligned with what matters to you.

Healing opportunity & Actionable Step:

Reorganizing Your Life Around What You Value
Aligned with Sun trine Chiron Rx — grounded healing; aligning routines with values; choosing pleasure and passion; releasing perfectionistic expectations.
Positive Expression: Grounded healing, practical reorganization, choosing habits that support joy, aligning daily life with what you value.
Shadow Expression: Fear of change, clinging to old routines, feeling overwhelmed by responsibility, believing you need the “perfect” plan.
Actionable Step: Journal: What do I truly value right now? What brings me pleasure, passion, or a sense of aliveness? Which habit or routine in my life does NOT reflect that — and what small, practical shift can I make today to realign? Then take one grounded step. It can be tiny. It can be simple. It can be as small as adjusting a morning routine, choosing a nourishing meal, or carving out 10 minutes for something that lights you up. Healing doesn’t always look like healing — sometimes it looks like consistency, alignment, and choosing what feels good. You’re reorganizing your life around what matters.

Healing Mantra for the Week:

“I ground my dreams in reality. I speak with clarity and purpose. I release who I was to become who I am. I heal slowly, steadily, and with grace.”

Psychology Fact:

The Hedonic Treadmill & The Power of Intentional Alignment
The hedonic treadmill (Brickman & Campbell) describes our tendency to return to a relatively stable level of happiness despite major positive or negative life changes. We adapt to what we have, and the things that once brought us joy can become background noise. This is why intentional alignment matters—when we actively reorganize our lives around what we truly value, we interrupt the treadmill and create lasting fulfillment. Research on value-congruent living shows that when our daily habits and routines reflect our core values, we experience greater meaning, satisfaction, and well-being. Small, consistent shifts in how we spend our time, what we prioritize, and how we care for ourselves create compounding effects that are far more powerful than big dramatic changes. The brain’s prefrontal cortex and limbic system work together to reinforce habits that align with what matters most, making them easier to maintain over time. When we choose what feels good, what lights us up, and what reflects our values, we are not just healing—we are building a life that truly sustains us.
Relevance: Sun trine Chiron Rx offers grounded, practical healing. The shadow is clinging to old routines out of familiarity or believing you need the “perfect” plan. The healing is to make small, intentional shifts that align your daily life with what you truly value.
Practice: Value Realignment Journaling Session:
“What is one small change—a morning routine, a nourishing meal, 10 minutes for something that lights me up—that I can commit to this week?” “What do I truly value right now? What brings me pleasure, passion, or a sense of aliveness?”
“Which habit or routine in my life does NOT reflect that—and what small, practical shift can I make today to realign?”
Then take one grounded step. It can be tiny. It can be simple. It can be as small as adjusting a morning routine, choosing a nourishing meal, or carving out 10 minutes for something that lights you up. Healing doesn’t always look like healing—sometimes it looks like consistency, alignment, and choosing what feels good. You’re reorganizing your life around what matters. That is how healing becomes sustainable.

Shadow Journal Prompts: (for the whole week)

  1. Where Have I Been Idealizing Instead of Seeing Clearly? Mars square Neptune asks us to ground our dreams in reality; Mercury trine Saturn helps us communicate with clarity.
Think of a situation, relationship, or goal where you may have been seeing what you hope is there rather than what actually is. What expectations need adjusting? What would it look like to honor your dreams while also staying grounded in what’s real? What’s one honest conversation or action you can take to bridge the gap between idealism and reality?
  2. Where Am I Avoiding Honest Connection? Venus opposite Saturn brings relational accountability and the need for honest boundaries.
In what relationship have you been holding back—avoiding a conversation, setting unclear boundaries, or not showing up as your full self? What are you afraid would happen if you spoke honestly? What might change if you showed up with both warmth and responsibility? What’s one small, honest step you can take today to strengthen a relationship?
  3. The Old Version of Me I’m Ready to Release: The Sun conjuncts the South Node in Leo, signaling a release of old identity patterns; the Sun enters Virgo, grounding us in purpose.
Think of an old version of yourself—a way of showing up, a role you’ve played, an identity you’ve outgrown. What was this version of you trying to protect? What has it cost you to keep playing that role? If you released it, what new, more grounded version of yourself might emerge in its place? What would it look like to show up authentically—not for recognition, but because it feels true and it feels alive?
  4. What Systems and Habits Support the Person I’m Becoming? Sun in Virgo helps us organize our lives to support our growth.
What daily habits, routines, or systems are currently supporting the person you’re becoming? What needs to be refined, released, or restructured? What’s one small, practical change you can make today to align your environment with your evolution or growth? How can you create more order, clarity, or intention in your life?
  5. Reorganizing My Life Around What I Value: The Sun trine Chiron Rx energy and reorganizing your life around what you value.
What do I truly value right now — what brings me pleasure, passion, nourishment, or a sense of aliveness? Where in my daily routines or habits am I not honoring those values? What is one small, practical shift I can make today that supports what matters to me — something simple, grounded, and doable that helps me feel more aligned? Let this step be gentle. Let it be real. Let it reflect what feels good. Healing doesn’t have to be dramatic — sometimes it’s just choosing a routine that supports who I’m becoming.
