A Weekly Astrological Look Ahead with Soul-Work Journal Prompts, Healing Opportunities, as well as Actionable Steps to Work with the Energy.
Hey Soul Seekers,
This past week gave us a moment to breathe—it was a brief exhale before we sharply inhale again, as the energy begins to build over the next week. I know, what you are thinking… “How can it ramp up even more”? I get it, I really do! This week, all the planets will shift fully out of the watery, dreamy realm of Pisces, and it enters into Aries where everything begins to accelerate. You may feel time speeding up, and this time your energy matches to the rise, and we feel a sense that something wants to move—even if you’re not sure what yet.
We have an extraordinary lineup of transits this week, each one building on the last. It begins with Mars conjunct Neptune on Monday, helping us visualize our goals and direction—even if the path still feels foggy. On the same day, Venus sextile Jupiter brings us back to our shared humanity and the steadying power of real, tangible care and compassion. Tuesday brings Mercury sextile Uranus at 29°, a mental breakthrough after weeks of fog, followed by Mercury entering Aries—this is the moment every planet finally leaves Pisces. The shift is palpable. Everything begins to move.
Thursday is tender and powerful: the Sun conjunct Chiron brings old identity wounds to the surface, while Mars sextile Pluto offers the courage and empowerment to face them. Mercury conjunct Neptune follows, helping us envision how we want to move forward. Friday is the crown of the week: the Aries New Moon, with six planets plus Chiron in Aries, asking us to begin—not when we feel ready, not when the time is perfect, but now. This New Moon is all about the courage to begin or start over perfection. One step, then the next, and so on, so forth.
Saturday, Mercury sextile Pluto invites us to deep-dive into our mindset, releasing the mental patterns and behaviors that keep us stuck. This is deeply psychological work—pay attention to what surfaces. And Sunday brings a reality check: Mars conjunct Saturn can feel like a stop when we want a go. Pause. Make sure what you’re starting is build is sustainable and will last. Then the Sun enters Taurus, grounding us in on the sustainability, adding in what nourishes us, and what we can truly build and rely upon.
This week is intense. It requires energy, motion, and courage. If you feel irritability or anger rising—and you probably will—use it. Walk. Exercise. Dance. Punch a pillow. Sing loudly. Move the energy through your body in ways that release rather than react.
Remember, you’re not behind. You’re not broken. You’re just becoming. And becoming takes courage and consistent effort.
As a friendly reminder, with Saturn, Neptune and all the energy piling up in Aries, time may feel like it’s moving faster or scattered, so focus on joy, purpose, personal development, and what truly nourishes you. I’m writing a more streamlined format for a bit, as I balance a fuller workload; I appreciate your patience and support as I temporarily pause any new consultations to honor my current commitments.

Astrological Breakdown for The Week
The Astrology for April 13th – 19th: The Week of Fire, Fog & A New Beginning
Welcome to a week that moves like a forge—intense heat, raw materials, and the slow, steady shaping of something new. We begin with a blend of compassionate, visionary, and ideological actions, as Mars meets Neptune, then we shift into bold thinking sprinkled with courageous momentum as Mercury enters Aries. By midweek, the Sun touches Chiron, bringing old identity wounds to the surface so they can finally be healed, just in time for a new beginning. On Friday a powerfully intense Aries New Moon—with six planets plus Chiron all piling up in Aries, this energy is asking us to step into a braver, more authentic version of who we are. The week closes with a sobering reality check as Mars meets Saturn, grounding us in responsibility, just as the Sun enters Taurus a few hours later, reminding us to tend to what truly sustains us.
This is not a gentle week. It is a catalytic one—full of thresholds, breakthroughs, and the kind of pressure that shapes diamonds. Let’s walk through it together.
Monday, April 13th: Mars conjunct Neptune (Aries) & Venus (Taurus) closing sextile Jupiter (Cancer)
On Monday, Mars conjuncts Neptune in Aries while Venus in Taurus sextiles Jupiter in Cancer, creating a day where action, intuition, and emotional generosity blend in powerful but sometimes confusing ways.
What it feels like: A split experience. One moment you may feel inspired, courageous, and ready to pursue a vision with passion. The next, you may feel tired, foggy, or unsure of which direction to take. Energy fluctuates wildly. A blend of softness and intensity—your heart wide open but your direction still forming. Tender, inspired, compassionate, yet also tired or uncertain.
Positive expressions: Deep inspiration, spiritual connection, creative flow, and emotional generosity. A desire to help others, create something meaningful, or act from empathy. Warmth and nourishment in relationships.
Shadow expressions: Confusion, blurred boundaries, over-giving, or acting on unrealistic ideals. Subtle forms of aggression disguised as “helping.” Pressure to act before clarity arrives. Over-idealizing people or situations.
The invitation: If you feel unclear, don’t force decisions—clarity will return within a few days. Move gently. Act with kindness. Let intuition guide you without forcing outcomes. Offer compassion, but protect your own energy. Remember: Mars is moving toward Saturn later this week, so any actions taken now will be evaluated—patience matters.
Healing Opportunity & Actionable Step: Mars conjunct Neptune & Venus closing sextile Jupiter
Acting with Compassion Without Losing Yourself
Aligned with Mars-Neptune (blurred boundaries) and Venus-Jupiter (emotional generosity).
Positive Expression: Feeling inspired to help others, create something meaningful, or act from deep empathy. Generosity flows naturally, and your heart feels open and tender.
Shadow Expression: Over-giving, absorbing others’ emotions, acting on unrealistic ideals, or feeling drained by unclear motives. Confusion between what’s compassionate and what’s codependent.
Actionable Step: Practice the “Generosity Pause.” Before offering help or acting on impulse today, pause and ask: “Am I giving from fullness or depletion? Is this truly mine to carry?” If unsure, wait. Offer presence instead of action. Journal afterward: “I acted with compassion—and I protected my own energy. Both are sacred.”
Tuesday, April 14th: Mercury (Pisces) closing sextile Uranus (Taurus) & Mercury Enters Aries
On Tuesday, Mercury in Pisces forms a closing sextile to Uranus in Taurus at 29°—the final degree of both signs—creating a moment of emotional clarity and intuitive breakthrough. A few hours later, Mercury enters Aries, shifting the mental tone from foggy to fiery.
What it feels like: Stepping out of water and into fire. Excited yet slightly overwhelmed, like your mind is waking up faster than your emotions can keep up. Insights may feel sudden, meaningful, or like something finally “clicks” after weeks of fog. This breakthrough may come more as a feeling than a fully formed plan.
Positive expressions: Mental awakening. Clarity returning. Ideas sparking. A renewed sense of direction and confidence. Feeling motivated to start something new, take initiative, or align your actions with who you’re becoming.
Shadow expressions: Impulsivity, restlessness, mental overstimulation. Scattered thoughts or sudden changes of mind. Blunt or reactive communication. Rushing into action without thinking it through.
The invitation: Ground your insights before acting. Take intentional steps, not impulsive ones. The mental fog is lifting, but your emotions may still be catching up. Let clarity settle before you move. Write down your breakthroughs, then wait 24 hours before acting on them.
Healing Opportunity & Actionable Step: Mercury sextile Uranus & Mercury Enters Aries
Grounding the Breakthrough Before Acting
Aligned with Mercury-Uranus (sudden clarity) and Mercury entering Aries (bold thinking).
Positive Expression: Feeling a sudden “click” of understanding after weeks of fog. Mental clarity returns. Ideas feel fresh, inspired, and full of possibility. Confidence rises.
Shadow Expression: Impulsive decisions, scattered thoughts, or rushing into action before having clarity. Mistaking mental excitement for grounded readiness.
Actionable Step: Use the “24-Hour Insight Rule.” When a breakthrough or bold idea arrives, write it down immediately—but commit to waiting 24 hours before acting on it if you can. This honors the intuitive flash while allowing your grounded mind to catch up. After the wait, journal: “This insight still feels true / needs refinement.” Let clarity settle before you move forward.
Thursday, April 16th: Sun conjunct Chiron/Mars sextile Pluto/Mercury conjunct Neptune
On Thursday, three powerful energies unfold: the Sun conjuncts Chiron in Aries, Mars in Aries sextiles Pluto in Aquarius, and Mercury conjuncts Neptune in Aries, creating a day that is emotionally sensitive, psychologically revealing, and ripe for transformation.
What it feels like: Standing at the edge of something beginning—tender, inspired, and aware of both your wounds and your potential. A mix of vulnerability and strength, like something old is being exposed so something new can emerge. You may feel emotionally raw, overwhelmed, or disappointed in yourself—yet also aware that healing is possible.
Positive expressions: Healing insight. Empowered action. Creative inspiration. The courage to face what hurts with honesty and compassion. A breakthrough in how you express yourself. Transformation through conscious choice.
Shadow expressions: Emotional rawness, self-criticism, or feeling overwhelmed. Taking on more than you can hold. Idealizing outcomes or feeling unsure whether your plans are grounded in reality. Impulsive or reactive choices.
The invitation: Move gently. Act intentionally. Let healing guide your next steps rather than pressure or perfectionism. Face what hurts with compassion, not judgment. If you feel raw, breathe. If you feel inspired, write it down. This is a day to receive insight, not to force action.
Healing opportunity & Actionable Step: Sun conjunct Chiron/Mars sextile Pluto/Mercury conjunct Neptune
Facing the Wound Without Becoming It
Aligned with Sun-Chiron (identity wounds surfacing) and Mars-Pluto (empowered action).
Positive Expression: Old fears or insecurities rise to the surface—not to haunt you, but to be healed. You see where you’ve been holding yourself back and feel ready to choose differently.
Shadow Expression: Getting swallowed by self-criticism, inadequacy, or shame. Mistaking the surfacing of a wound for proof that you’re broken. Reacting from fear rather than responding from awareness.
Actionable Step: Complete the “Witness & Release” Activity. When an old wound surfaces, write: “I notice the wound around ________. It taught me to believe ________. But the truth I’m learning now is ________.” Then place a hand on your heart and say: “I see you. But this is not who I am anymore—I am healing and growing from that wound.” This separates identity from wound, creating space for healing.
Friday, April 17th: Aries New Moon
On Friday, the Aries New Moon arrives with six planets plus Chiron in Aries—an enormous surge of fire marking a powerful new beginning in identity, courage, and self-initiation.
What it feels like: Ready to embark on a personal journey—tender but determined, aware of your fears but also aware of your potential. A mix of excitement, sensitivity, and urgency, like something inside you is ready to shift even if you don’t yet know the full shape of what’s emerging.
Positive expressions: Empowerment, clarity, and energizing new beginnings. Feeling ready to claim your identity more boldly, start something new, or take meaningful steps toward a more authentic version of yourself. Breakthroughs in confidence and self-trust.
Shadow expressions: Rawness, vulnerability, or emotional intensity. Old wounds surfacing around worth, visibility, or self-trust. Self-doubt flaring up. Pressure to “be brave” before you’re ready. Fear of judgment or failure.
The invitation: Breathe deeply. Trust your instincts. You don’t need to be fully healed to begin—you just need to be willing. Examine why you hold yourself back: fear of not being enough, fear of judgment, fear of failure. Then choose courage over avoidance. Take one imperfect step toward the self you’re becoming. Readiness isn’t a feeling—it’s a choice.
Healing opportunity & Actionable Step: Aries New Moon
Choosing Courage Over Perfection
Aligned with Aries New Moon conjunct Chiron (healing identity wounds) and square Pluto (shadow work).
Positive Expression: Feeling ready to start something new—not because you’re fully healed, but because you’re done waiting. Courage rises despite the fear. You trust your becoming.
Shadow Expression: Waiting until you feel “ready enough,” which never comes. Letting fear of imperfection or judgment keep you frozen. Mistaking vulnerability for weakness.
Actionable Step: Take one “Courageous Imperfect Step.” Identify one action aligned with the self you’re becoming—something you’ve been waiting to feel ready for. Take it this week, imperfectly, without guarantees. Afterward, journal: “I began before I was ready. That was the courage I’ve been waiting for.” This rewires the brain to associate imperfection with growth, not failure.
Saturday, April 18th: Mercury (Aries) opening sextile Pluto (Aqua.)
On Saturday, Mercury in Aries forms a sextile to Pluto in Aquarius, creating a moment of mental clarity, psychological insight, and transformative thinking. This transit is part of a larger Yod pattern with the South Node in Virgo at the apex—a “Finger of God” pointing toward karmic release.
What it feels like: Feeling like you are ready to make changes—aware of what needs to be released and aware of what wants to emerge. Nervous and empowered at the same time. Tender and determined. Your mind is being rewired. Courage meets clarity.
Positive expressions: Sudden clarity, a shift in perspective, or a renewed sense of confidence in your ideas and direction. Feeling mentally sharp, courageous, and ready to take action on something that once felt intimidating. Releasing old mental habits.
Shadow expressions: Anxiety, overthinking, or fear of making the wrong choice. Perfectionism or analysis paralysis. Pressure to “get it right.” Thoughts feeling heavier or more urgent than they actually are.
The invitation: Stop fighting the old. Start building the new. Release self-criticism, perfectionism, over-analysis, and the fear that freezes you before you even begin. Write down the mental pattern you’re ready to release. Write down the truth you want to replace it with. Each time the old thought returns, repeat the new truth three times. This is neural rewiring in action.
Healing opportunity & Actionable Step: Mercury (Aries) opening sextile Pluto (Aqua.)
Releasing the Mental Pattern That Keeps You Stuck
Aligned with Mercury-Pluto (mental rewiring) and the Yod with South Node in Virgo (karmic release).
Positive Expression: Sudden clarity about a mental habit that’s been holding you back—perfectionism, over-analysis, self-criticism. You see it clearly and feel empowered to release it.
Shadow Expression: Spiraling into overthinking, analysis paralysis, or harsh self-judgment. Knowing the pattern but feeling unable to change it. Letting fear of “getting it wrong” keep you stuck.
Actionable Step: Create a “Mental Release Action.” Write down one recurring thought pattern you’re ready to release (“I need to be perfect to be worthy”). Read it aloud. Then write its replacement: “I am worthy as I am, especially when I try.” Tear or burn the old pattern. Place the new truth somewhere visible. Each time the old thought returns, pause and repeat the new truth three times. This is neural rewiring in action.
Sunday, April 19th: Mars conjunct Saturn (Aries) & Sun Enters Taurus
On Sunday, Mars conjuncts Saturn in Aries just hours before the Sun enters Taurus, creating a day that blends discipline, responsibility, and grounded reassessment.
What it feels like: A reality check followed by a grounding exhale. The weight of responsibility, the need to slow down, the urge to reassess your commitments. You may feel the tension between wanting stability (Taurus) and the reality of sudden change (Uranus approaching Venus). The ground may feel like it’s shifting beneath your feet.
Positive expressions: Clarity, maturity, and grounded decision-making. Committing to what truly matters. Stabilizing, simplifying, and reconnecting with what nourishes you. Breakthroughs in responsibility, boundaries, and self-care.
Shadow expressions: Heaviness, restriction, frustration, or delays. Feeling like you’re hitting a wall. Emotional discomfort, insecurity, or sudden shifts in what you value or rely on. Resistance to change.
The invitation: Act with integrity. Care for your body and nervous system. Stay flexible as the ground shifts. Take responsibility for what is yours—and release what is not. If you feel stretched thin, prioritize nourishment and rest. Taurus reminds you to return to what is essential. Uranus reminds you that growth sometimes requires stepping out of your comfort zone. Be responsible without self-punishment.
Healing opportunity & Actionable Step: Mars conjunct Saturn (Aries) & Sun Enters Taurus
Taking Responsibility Without Self-Punishment
Aligned with Mars-Saturn (accountability) and Sun entering Taurus (grounding).
Positive Expression: Feeling clear about what’s yours to carry and what isn’t. Taking responsibility with integrity, not shame. Grounding yourself in what truly nourishes and sustains you.
Shadow Expression: Collapsing into self-criticism, heaviness, or overwhelm. Mistaking responsibility for burden. Resisting the need to slow down or reassess.
Actionable Step: Conduct a “Responsibility Inventory.” Draw two columns. Left: “What is mine to carry (actions, choices, growth).” Right: “What is not mine to carry (others’ reactions, outcomes I can’t control, old guilt).” Read the left column aloud: “I take responsibility for ________.” Read the right column aloud: “I release ________. This is not mine.” Then take one small action from the left column today—just one. This honors Saturn’s call without letting it crush you.
Healing Mantra for the Week:
“I am brave enough to face my wounds and bold enough to begin again. I release what I’ve outgrown. I build what truly sustains me. I trust the fire, the fog, and the foundation.”
Psychology Fact:
Responsibility vs. Blame & The Prefrontal Cortex’s Role in Accountability
Research distinguishes between responsibility (owning one’s choices and actions) and blame (attaching shame to mistakes). Neuroimaging shows that responsibility activates the prefrontal cortex (planning, growth), while blame activates the anterior cingulate cortex and insula (pain, self-criticism). Taking responsibility without blame is associated with greater learning, resilience, and behavior change. Blame leads to avoidance and stagnation. Relevance: Mars-Saturn asks us to take responsibility. The shadow is collapsing into self-punishment. The healing is to separate accountability from shame—to own without attacking.
Practice: Use “The Responsibility Reframe.” When you notice self-blame, pause and ask: “What can I learn from this without punishing myself?” Then complete: “I take responsibility for ________. This does not make me bad—it makes me human. What I will do differently is ________.” Journal the reframe. This activates prefrontal networks of growth rather than shame networks of avoidance.
Shadow Journal Prompts: (for the whole week)
- Where Am I Giving from Depletion Instead of Fullness? Mars-Neptune blurs boundaries; Venus-Jupiter amplifies generosity.
Think of a recent time you offered help, support, or care to someone else. Were you giving from a place of fullness—or from obligation, guilt, or the hope of being needed? What would it feel like to give only from what genuinely overflows, rather than what you scrape together? Where might you need to receive before you can truly give? - What Breakthrough Have I Been Avoiding? Mercury-Uranus brings sudden clarity; Mercury in Aries demands bold thinking.
If I’m honest, there’s an insight I’ve been circling—something I know but haven’t fully let myself see. What is it? What would change if I stopped pretending I didn’t know? What’s one small action I could take today to honor that knowing, even imperfectly? - The Wound That’s Ready to Become Wisdom Sun-Chiron surfaces identity wounds; Mars-Pluto offers empowered action; Mercury-Neptune brings vision.
Think of an old wound around your worth, your visibility, or your right to take up space. If that wound could speak, what would it say it’s been trying to protect you from? And now, with the courage you have today, what truth about yourself is it time to reclaim? What would healing—not perfection, just healing—look like in this area? - What Would I Begin If I Stopped Waiting to Feel Ready? Aries New Moon conjunct Chiron asks for courage before certainty.
What is one thing you’ve been waiting to begin—a creative project, a boundary, a conversation, a way of showing up—until you feel more prepared, more healed, more confident? What if readiness isn’t a feeling, but a choice? What would it look like to begin today, imperfectly, with the version of you that exists right now? - The Mental Pattern I’m Ready to Release Mercury-Pluto rewires thinking; the Yod points to karmic release of Virgo South Node patterns.
What mental habit keeps you stuck—perfectionism, over-analysis, self-criticism, the need to have it all figured out before you move? Where did you first learn this pattern? What was it trying to protect you from? And if you released it—not fought it, just released it—what might become possible? - What Is Mine to Carry—and What Is Not? Mars-Saturn demands responsibility; Sun in Taurus grounds us in what sustains.
Make two lists. First: “What is mine to carry (my actions, my choices, my growth).” Second: “What is not mine to carry (others’ reactions, outcomes I can’t control, old guilt).” Read the first list and ask: “Am I carrying this with integrity or with shame?” Read the second list and ask: “What would it feel like to set this down?” - What Truly Nourishes Me—and What Have I Been Settling For? Sun in Taurus turns our attention to stability, pleasure, and what sustains us.
In what area of your life have you been settling for “fine” when you long for something more nourishing—your routines, your relationships, your environment, your self-care? What would it look like to choose one small thing that truly feeds you this week, not as a reward, but as a baseline?
HAVE THE BEST WEEK AHEAD!
